The performance by the Nursery teacher trainees and Montessori teacher trainees was both entertaining and also a religious act that had great significance for both actors and the young audience.
All the trainees demonstrated great skill in script writing, enacting, role playing their characters and dialogue delivery. It was a great feeling to see them work in groups and teaming up to deliver fantastic plays. Both the groups enacted different scenes. Montessori trainees with their perfect skills set and enthusiasm showcased the scene when Kaikeyi (one of the three wives of King Dasharatha and the Queen of Ayodhya ) coaxes Raja Dashrath to banish the rightful heir Rama to forests and make her son Baharat the rightful king. The facts were shown along with little humour but with great precisions.
The NTT students act was a visual treat as each one had beautifully molded into their characters. The scene depicted by this group was well directed, with great script, perfect dialogue deliveries and an act that made all the little audience laugh to their fullest.
They showcased the moments from when Sita & Rama got married to Sita’s abduction by Ravana during their 14 years of exile. Simplicity and humour were integral to their play for they brought out serious scenes also in such a light and a catchy manner that children could not stop laughing. The play ended with Ravana vadh – victory of good over evil.
Post the play time Teacher trainees made students do activities. Older ones made mobiles of Lord Rama and the younger group of Nursery and KG made Ravana with sticking colored shapes. Thanks to Ms. Anupama Das who prepared these cut outs for these little ones to enjoy and end their day with Happy moments of Dussehra!!
Also on behalf of the entire team of Sutra the learning thread I would like to thank Shyama ji (Founder of Maitryee Foundation) for giving us the opportunity to stage the play in their premises.
