“The Best Thing to hold on to in life is Each other” and yes that’s what we did at Sutra the learning thread we celebrated the moment of love, care and togetherness with children of Vatsalyam – a home for girl child & school for the neighborhood children on 14th February 2017.
A Puppet Show was planned for these children at school venue.
Montessori trainees of Sutra the learning thread very enthusiastically prepared a puppet show on Friendship of Sheru (the lion) and Jacky (the jackal).
Puppets and the complete set up was planned very meticulously, though it was the first exposure for the trainees to be holding an event like this for students of age group 5 to 10 years but they came out with flying colours. From creating the characters to creating the background and writing the script and then using voice modulation was not an easy task, but as a team, it was carried out to perfection by them. This was evident from the giggles and laughter of the children who loved Sheru and Jacky’s friendship and they sharing the stage.
Puppet show without humour is no fun.. so trainees used all the elements of the performance they could by adding songs and humorous tones just to bring the million dollar smiles on each one of children faces.
Post the puppet show children were talked about the importance of living together and were then divided into two groups –one group made animal masks and the other made friendship bands. How the two hours went working with these little ones we didn’t come to know.
The show culminated with lots of hugs and claps for each other.
Feeling of all of us from Sutra at the end was that of satisfaction for each one of us said to each other “It was really a great way to celebrate this day of Love”.
